09/10/23 Sync Meeting Note

Members’ introduction:

• [new member] Josh: The drone project - needs to recruit two new members
• [new member] Nizar: Sophomore, who join the club this summer, responsible for algorithm (with Tianyi & Renzo)
• [new member] Peixiong: Freshman, VEX competition experiences back in high school, who may bring his own robots to DKU
• Temirlan: Responsible for connecting brain
• [new member] Yunzhen: Freshman, who previously has no experiences about VEX, will work with Temirlan. Currently is still studying more about VEX.

Meeting introduction (by Tianyi):

• Describe what you have done last week and share your thoughts about next week’s plan
• Get to know more about other teammates, communicate with potential problems encounter

Dii Program (by Bob):

• Announcement: there is one Dii program of BlueBear Programming team’s work (figure out the current environment around the robot) that needs to recruit 2more members to join.
  1. Josh was interested in joining.
• Brief introduction about Dii:
  1. Under the supervision of Innovation Lab, 5-10 person per group and lasts for 1-2 year(s), will get fundings from school.
  2. Current situation: BlueBear got ￥3000 – 11/2022; ￥2000 – This year (2023)
  3. Dachuang Project (大创): can get fundings from the gov.
• Current tasks:
  1. Purchase for field
  2. Bob’s meeting with Innovation lab to discuss about fundings [problem pending solved]

Financial struggling (by Bob):

• Now the school funding cannot cover traveling expenses for competition
• Choices for members:
  1. Join Dii program but not the competition
  2. Join/not to join Dii program and join the competition
     1. Members have access to sponsorship outside of DKU plz contact Bob
     2. Without sponsorship, members may need to pay for their own traveling expenses, and correspondingly, Bluebear will choose to join the competitions just near Kunshan
