The table below shows all of the collections used by catalogers, except those for electronic resource cataloging. Some collections were used for conversion (e.g., Perkins Quarto) or are used by other staff (e.g., Reserves).
or books, item status is determined by collection. For other formats, item status is determined by format (with non-book formats usually sorted by collection, such as "Lilly A-V DVD"). However, for non-circulating collections such as Reference, the item status of the collection overrides the item status of the format. This chart gives the "default" item status. For a complete list, see Aleph tab15.
Changes to the definition of collections in Aleph, including the creation of new collection and changes to display are usually handled by Metadata & Discovery Strategy, in consultation with Resource Description and public services staff.
If the need arises to catalog for a collection that is already defined in Aleph but is not listed here, propose that it be added.

Call numbers use LC classification unless otherwise indicated.
