362 1_ Should reflect the contents of the reprint.
For example: The serial ran from v. 1, no. 1 (January, 1920- v. 11, no. 11 (December, 1930).
362 1_ Reprint begins with v.1, no. 1 (January, 1920); reprint ceases with v. 11, no. 11 (December, 1930).
But if the reprint only encompasses v.1, no. 1 (January, 1920)-v. 8, no. 12 (December, 1927) then the 362 should reflect this fact:
362 1_ Reprint begins with v.1, no. 1 (January, 1920); reprint ceases with v. 8, no. 12 (December, 1927)
The 588 fields reflect that the description was based on the reprint in hand.
For example:
588 __ Description based on: Reprint volume (assumes it has been reprinted in 1 volume)
588 __ Description based on: Reprint volume (1884-1885) (assumes years were provided by the publisher on an added title page)
588 __ Description based on: Reprint volume 1
588 __ Latest issue consulted: Reprint volume 6 (assumes the publisher has numbered the reprint volumes)
The rest of the "description based on" statement should reflect where the title of the serial was found. For example:
588 __ Description based on: Reprint volume 1; title from facsimile title page.
588 __ Description based on: Reprint volume 1; title from facsimile caption.
Please note: If your reprint volume has an additional title page inserted with a different title to the original serial, add a 246 1_ ǂi Reprint has added title page title:
Example: Cronaca Sibarita (digital images of relevant pages are attached)
362 1_ Reprint begins with anno 1, numero 1 (1 settembre, 1884); reprint ceases with anno II, numero 3 (16 febbraio, 1884)
