When acquiring eBooks, they should be selected according to the following preference cascade:

1. Publisher-provided, DRM-free, unlimited use

2. Aggregator-provided unlimited use

3. Aggregator-provided concurrent use or nonlinear lending

4. Aggregator-provided 3-user

5. Aggregator-provided 1-user

For items with prices in excess of $500, it is not required to follow the preferences above.
