WebX - The Web Experience Team

In collaboration with the Libraries’ Digital Strategies and Technology (DST), Research, Collections and Scholarly Communication (RCSC), and Technical Services (TS) leadership, the Web Experience Team (WebX) oversees and manages the Libraries’ web and discovery interfaces and develops strategies for incorporating and evaluating changes to them. The work of WebX is focused on both vision and implementation.

WebX will undertakes its work through a tiered approach that is comprised of leadership teams and four functional teams.

Leadership Teams:

  • WebX Quarterly
  • WebX Team Leads

Functional Teams:

  • Catalog - Cory Lown, Team Lead
    • Focus: Identifies ways to improve resource discovery and metadata display in the Books & Media Catalog interface through data remediation, new practices, software development, and changes to ingest rules.
  • Content Strategy (CST) - Aaron Welborn, Team Lead
    • Focus: Guides the process for creating, maintaining, and governing content on the Libraries’ main website (Drupal).
  • Resource Discovery Systems & Strategies (RDSS) - Jacquie Samples and Maggie Dickson, Team Co-Leads
  • UX/UI (User Experience / User Interfaces) - Thomas Crichlow, Team Lead
    • Focus: Oversees and coordinates the user experience that patrons encounter while using Duke University Libraries' patron-facing web and discovery interfaces; carries out the Vision and Values established for Duke University Libraries' web presence.
