Managing ReShare Users
Unlike in Relais, there will not be shared accounts in ReShare. Each person who needs access to ReShare needs their own account created in the Users app.
Types of users/permission sets in our ReShare environment:
- ReShare Administrator
- Have full access to the system as defined by IndexData
- Includes ability to modify NCIP settings - should not be granted broadly - during initial IPLC launch, only held by LSIS staff
- ReShare User Manager
- Grants ability to manager user accounts
- ReShare User
- Primary permission set for ILR staff who are managing borrowing and lending
- Should be assigned to FTEs
- ReShare Student employee
- Primary permission set for student employees doing ILR work
- Allows for creating and editing requests, everything else is view-only
- ReShare View Only
- Primary permission set for any other library full-time employees who need access to help patrons
Creating a user
Follow directions here: https://openlibraryfoundation.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PR/pages/1758429185/Creating+and+managing+staff+user+accounts#Create-a-new-user-account
- Patron group is "faculty," "graduate", or "undergraduate" but does not drive any ReShare workflows, so it's not an issue if it is mismatched
- Once SSO is enabled, the username must be "netid@duke.edu" in order SSO to work as expected. E.g., Erin's username would be en25@duke.edu
- Assign permissions as outlined above.
- Once SSO is enabled, we will not use the reset password functionality as described in the ReShare wiki.
Deleting a user
- Deleting users must be done by James Robinson (James Robinson <jr4511@princeton.edu>)
- User accounts should be deleted after the person has left Duke employment.
