Using your purchased data allocation
Once you have paid for a data allocation, you will be assigned a “fund code” in the system. You have the ability to “add members” to this code. This allows other users to upload data using your allocation.
Adding users to code: Go to your user dashboard, and scroll down the lefthand menu to “fund codes” (under Contributor Tools). Click it, then click “edit members” on the appropriate code and add users. You will only be able to add users who have already been approved with Contributor status.
Using the code:
When you upload new media (either individually or in batch) you will now see a drop down field asking “what fund code supports this deposit”. Select your code (see below). That is all there is to it.
Courtesy requests:
Currently, the system will still allow you to add data using MorphoSource subsidizing codes, even if you were required to pay and have your own code. Please let us know (1) if you accidentally assigned data to the MorphoSource code instead of your own by mistake, and (2) if you have otherwise know of datasets you uploaded that are using our funding sources, but should be using your code. Currently, it is also possible to “overfill” your code. Please be aware of how much data you are using by checking your data allocations under dashboard/contributor tools/fund codes. We may contact you and ask you about any data you uploaded that our using our codes to see if it can be transferred to your payment codes. If you overfill your code, we will definitely eventually be reaching out to you.
In the near future…
it will not be possible to upload media with a MorphoSource subsidizing code except under special circumstances. It will also not be possible to overfill your code. That means once you use your data allocation, you will not be able to upload more data until you pay for an additional allocation.
