How to See Who Has User Roles for a Given Media
Anyone can see who holds Roles of Data Manager, Uploader, and Download Request Reviewer for a given media in the Ownership and Permissions section of the Media Show page. However, only users with roles that allow "Editing" can see the full list of users with access to a media file (see Definitions of User Roles for Media)
This list is shown on the "sharing" tab of the Media Edit page (see screenshot below).
The Media Edit page is accessed by navigating to a Media Show page and clicking "Edit" in the upper right corner. If you do not see an "Edit" button, you may not be logged in or you may not have Edit access to the media in question.
On the screenshot page below notice the following:
- There are three kinds of access (look on the left under "currently sharing". 1) Data Manager, 2) Individual, and 3) Team/Project.
- The only kind of access that can be added, modified or removed from this page is individual level access.
- No one can remove a Data Manager's access. Instead, the Data Manager can request that someone else take over their role via the "transfer" section at the bottom.
- The full list of individuals with access through each team or project and their role/access level is given in the middle column of the page.
- An individual's access via a team/project can only be removed by 1) a Project Manager removing them as members of the project, or 2) removing the media from the team/project.
