Ongoing Activities
Users may have questions about how to most effectively continue to manage their collection or imaging organization on MorphoSource after they establish management. The list below includes four activities that organization managers can pursue to ensure their organization is well managed on MorphoSource, which together should take less than an hour a week to complete.
1. Keep their permission template up-to-date to reflect current museum/institutional policies, and inform MorphoSource administrators when changes need to be made retroactively to existing media.
2. For object-managing organizations, check, edit, and maintain physical object records. For device-managing organizations, check, edit, and maintain device records.
3. For object-managing organizations with re-use policies or preferences that prefer publishing media with restricted download status, regularly check for and decide download requests. MorphoSource will issue notifications to any users specified as download request deciding users in ownership and permissions settings, these notifications will be sent via email and through the MorphoSource site.
4. For organizations that have opted in to the Organization Ownership Transfers system, regularly check for transfer requests to take over management of newly added media. Any organization manager member can decide transfer requests, and notifications of new transfer requests will be sent via email and through the MorphoSource site.
