Creating valid zip files

Important: zipping file collections that produce >4gb zip files - It is critical that contributors do NOT use the default archiving or compression buttons associated with their operating systems (both in Windows and Mac) when zipping large collections of images.  Though the files will appear to archive successfully, zips larger than 4gb created this way will be incompatible in most other software environments.  In particular, they will appear corrupt to the MorphoSource file characterization and derivative generation tools.  To successfully create large zip files you MUST INSTALL AND USE AN ARCHIVING SOFTWARE on your computer.  There are many options including winZIP, winRAR, 7zip and Keka (for mac).  With any of these softwares always use the “.zip” file extension.
