NC Medicaid Data Dictionary, version 20240608: Organized by NCMMIS Number

The NC Medicaid data dictionary provides the current description of all data elements utilized in NC Tracks. For each data element the DE number, description, data type, size, functional area owner and valid values (where applicable) is provided.
Notes:
DataShare does not have access to all included data elements.
The dictionary does not include variable names.
There are >10,000 data elements in the dictionary; this makes documents and pages very slow and necessitates the dictionary to be distributed across several subpages and for the elements to indexed in separate tables.

How to navigate the dictionary:
Open https://duke.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PD/pages/334790778 in a separate window.
Identify the data element of interest in the index. Note its subpage location but do not click the link.
Click the dropdown menu on this page that corresponds to the element’s subpage location.
Search for the element.
This approach is slow and tedious but faster and less prone to crashes that navigating directly to the subpages or searching the comprehensive document.
