FY24 Note

Beginning Monday, February 5th, all incoming items with LC Class “TR” (photography books), should be processed as follows: Sublibrary: PERKN / Item Collection: TAP.
Spine labels will still print out with “Lilly” locations, but these books should be included on carts destined for Perkins.
Some “TR” items will arrive on shipments with batch loaded orders and bib/item records. The item records for those will need to be updated to reflect the new location.
Info on “TR” classed items in GOBI shipments will be noted in the exception reports.

Call numbers beginning with these letters do not go to Perkins Stacks and should be assigned to Lilly or Music unless it's paid by Divinity
Paid by Divinity (fund code starts with D):

All call numbers in the M range: Music
All call numbers in the N range: Lilly
All call numbers in the TR 640-689.5 range: Lilly (Artistic Photography)
All call numbers in the BL-BX range: Divinity (regardless of who paid for them)
All call numbers between PN1990 - PN1999 (PLI Collection): Lilly except Theater (based on Subject Headings)

Example:

All call numbers for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean language textual monographs and serials, except for those noted below, are sent to East Asian Collection (collection code PKE).

  1. M1-5000 (Music)[1]
  2. N, NA, NB, NC, ND, NE, NK, and NX ranges (Lilly)[2]
  3. TR640-689.5 (Lilly)[3]

[1] This classification range applies only to music scores.  Scores continue to reside in the Music Library collection, per past practice.  Books on music history and musicology (ML and MT call number ranges) will be sent to E.A.C.

[2] To ensure that all works that represent or are about visual arts reside in the Lilly Library collection and to simplify processing, all works in N-NX should go to Lilly.

[3] Works of and that represent or are about artistic photography should be kept together under the same rationale as that applied to works that represent or are about visual arts.
