  • Copyright rules for digitization are handled in Configuration > Fulfillment > Copyright Management > Digitization and Copyright Rules

  • As of Fall 2024, the only service supported with these rules is digitization requests from Leganto.

  • We have three automatic rules

    • Publication date 1928 or earlier - copyright is automatically approved

    • Copyright Work percentage < 15 percent compared to existing requests in the same course.

      • Comparison is done by the ISBN, and the rule is false if Alma can’t figure out the number of pages being scanned.

      • One quirk about this one is that the parameter value is actually set to 14 instead of 15. The reason is that the Ex Libris documentation says that the calculation rounds down, so if you put it at 15, than 15.4% would be approved. So it’s set to 14 instead.

    • Multiple chapters requested from this resource

      • If more than one chapter is requested from a resource for a course, than the second request, third request, etc. will get flagged for manual review

  • If copyright falls through those three rules, it hits a default rule that triggers manual review

  • No labels
