SEER-Medicare Usage Notes

Changes in the 2020 Linkage: Beginning in 2020, the Medicare data included in SEER-Medicare comes from CMS CCW and are the same Medicare files as those obtained directly from CMS, except that NCI encrypts ZIP code and provider identifiers. The PEDSF file has also been replaced with the SEER file, which has tumor-level cancer data, and the MBSF, which has person-level Medicare enrollment data. The Medicare Part D files, including the Pharmacy and Prescriber Characteristic Files and the Formulary File, were also added.
