Perkins Reserves rush orders come from the Reserves Coordinator in Access and Delivery Services. Lilly Reserves rush orders come from the Lilly Library Media and Reserves Coordinator.

Print Reserve Orders

Print reserve requests are ordered RUSH, and should be vended accordingly. (Most commonly through GOBI Rush or Amazon US.)

  1. Check the Rush Orders Inbox frequently for emails from Perkins or Lilly requesting a rush reserves order.
    1. They should supply: title (and ISBN, etc. to identify correct edition), class information (class number, possibly professor), fund code
  2. Create a Rush POL in Alma, following POL order creation instructions.
    1. Include class information in the receiving note field.
    2. Interested user should be the library where it will be held on reserves (NOT the final cataloging location). Create a hold on the order, and put class information in the Receiving note. Lilly Reserves does NOT get a hold.

Note: When duplicate copies are ordered but will be split between Perkins and Lilly, all copies are first directed to Perkins to be checked in, from where they'll direct it to Lilly.
Note: Books going to reserve should be cataloged for their permanent location. They should never be cataloged with a location of RESERVES.

E-book Reserve Orders

E-book orders are selected in GOBI by Reserves Coordinator for Perkins or Lilly Library Media and Reserves for Lilly. Check in GOBI for selections by searching for selector initials.

Screenshot of GOBI search interface, showing the Selector Initials box with initials blacked out for privacy.

  1. Selections should include a platform provider we are contracted with, access/license type, and fund code. (We cannot provide this information.)
  2. Check for duplication, and check with the selector if found to determine if this is an intentional duplicate (and if not, do not place the order).
  3. Place order as usual in GOBI.
  4. While in GOBI, send in an email to the Electronic Resources Management Specialist who handles contacting the requester. Make sure the information sent provides the requester's name, platform and license information (a forward from GOBI will include these.) We do not contact patron directly concerning e-book titles. (This email will arrive before the title is batch-loaded to Aleph, that's OK.)

Note: For item listed as 1 user, we are allowed to order up to 3 copies of these titles.
