Advanced Search: Searching Across Multiple Species

If you’re trying to construct a search that will return matches that belong to any one of a number of different species, it’s best not to use phrase-based matching for the reasons described above relating to oddness combining phrases and OR operators. The better way is to search for results that match BOTH any one genus term AND any one species term. In other words, for the search:

'Indri indri','Fakegenus fakespecies','Otherfakegenus otherfakespecies'

Instead, format this as:

Indri,Fakegenus,Otherfakegenus indri,fakespecies,otherfakespecies

Same result, but more consistent and intuitive search behavior. And remember, you can always export broader searches as CSV and then do additional parsing and searching from results.
