Sharing Access to Projects and Teams

There are only one or two ways to share access to a project or team: adding users as members of the project or team or, for projects, through temporary access links. These are explained below. In order to best understand project and team access, it's helpful to familiarize yourself with User Roles for Projects/Teams and the different membership categories that project and team members can have. An example Members tab of a Project edit page is shown to the right. The Members tab explains in brief what each membership category entails.

Project or Team Membership

Project or team managers can add other individual MorphoSource users as project or team members, in one of five categories (Managers, Editors, Depositors, Downloaders, and Viewers). Each of these categories entails different access rights relating to the project or team and to media within the project or team.

If a project is nested within a team, then team members will also have access to the project in addition to project-specific members.

Temporary Link (Anonymous) Access (Projects Only)

For projects (not teams), it is possible for project manager users to generate temporary links that grant anonymous and time-limited access to a private or published project and all private or published media within that project. See Project Temporary Access Links for more detail.
