Example Deposit Structures

Generally speaking MorphoSource will discourage users from deposits with "too much" or "unuseful" raw data. It will also discourage deposits limited to "overly derived" data that are not supported by underlying data that is less derived or "more primary".

Below are some example deposits.   See Preferred Deposit Structures for more information on rationale here as well as other possibilities.  This image shows an example of a more detailed/granular photogrammetry event (the "coarse" option corresponds to the example deposit in the table below).

reconstructed image stack:

collection of digital photographs

collection of meshes or point clouds each representing a scanning pass from imaging event

secondary
  • Mesh file representing a surface segmentation of the object in the tiff stack
  • Textured mesh file representing the processing of photo collection
  • textured mesh file representing end point of processing steps
tertiary
  • video rotation sequence emphasizing features of interest on the segmented mesh
  • 3D pdf with additional annotations
  • 2D image of the model using an orthographic project with a high res scale bar.
