Bulk renewing loans

Alma does not have a process to bulk renew loans, but it does have a job to bulk change due dates.
The job is run from
Fulfillment > Advanced Tools - Loans > Bulk Change Due Dates
You cannot run it from the main list of manual jobs - you have to go to the fulfillment menu.
The documentation outlines how to run the job fairly well.
The one thing you want to do that isn’t explicitly listed in the documentation is turn off the Loan Status Email letter prior to running the job, and turn it back on after you are finished.
The reason we turn this off is that the bulk change job will send one email to patron per loan - and so if a patron has, say, five items due and they are all being extended, the patron would get five separate emails. We don’t have any way to change that, so we turn off the notice. Just don’t forget to turn it back on when you’re finished.
